Archiving Policy
Archiving and Digital Preservation
The Journal of the Namibia Scientific Society is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content.
The journal utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to ensure a distributed and secure archiving system among participating libraries. This system allows libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
In addition, the journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides free long-term digital preservation for journals using Open Journal Systems.
The journal also deposits copies of its publications with the National Library of Namibia to ensure national-level preservation and long-term access.
These measures ensure that the journal’s content remains accessible and preserved over time, even in the event of system failure or discontinuation.
