Publication Ethics
The Journal of the Namibia Scientific Society is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice.
The journal follows internationally recognized ethical guidelines, including those recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
Responsibilities of Authors:
- Submit original work that has not been published elsewhere
- Properly cite and acknowledge the work of others
- Ensure all listed authors have contributed significantly
- Disclose any conflicts of interest
Responsibilities of Reviewers:
- Provide objective and constructive feedback
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts
- Declare any conflicts of interest
Responsibilities of Editors:
- Make impartial decisions based on academic merit
- Ensure a fair peer review process
- Maintain confidentiality
- Address ethical concerns promptly
Misconduct:
The journal does not tolerate:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Duplicate publication
Any ethical breaches will be investigated and may result in rejection or retraction of the article.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.
Authors must disclose:
- Financial support or funding
- Institutional affiliations
- Personal or professional relationships
Reviewers must:
- Decline to review manuscripts where a conflict exists
- Inform the editor of any potential bias
Editors must:
- Recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists
All disclosures will be handled transparently and in accordance with ethical publishing standards.
