Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of the Namibia Scientific Society undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of the published work.

The journal follows a single-blind peer review model, in which the identities of reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, while reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities.

Submission Requirement:

All submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal’s formatting and referencing guidelines, including the use of APA referencing style. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to authors for correction prior to review.

Review Procedure:

  1. Initial Screening
The Editor evaluates submissions for scope, originality, quality, and compliance with formatting and referencing requirements.
  2. Reviewer Assignment
Suitable manuscripts are sent to independent expert reviewers in the relevant field.
  3. Anonymous Review
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
    • Scientific rigor
    • Originality
    • Clarity and structure
    • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  4. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer feedback, the Editor makes one of the following decisions:
    • Accept
    • Minor revisions
    • Major revisions
    • Reject
  5. Revision Process
Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments and revise their manuscript accordingly.

The editorial team ensures that all reviews are handled confidentially and that the process is fair, unbiased, and timely.
